FLOORING DIRECTION AFFECTS THE LOOK OF A ROOM

A number of aesthetic considerations might dictate the direction of the flooring. It doesn't matter much in a square room, but in most other cases flooring is usually parallel to the longest wall. Running it perpendicular to the long wall makes a room seem shorter.
1. Flooring direction in a square room does not make too much of a difference.
2. Flooring installed at a diagonal makes the room look bigger, but it can be chaotic in a small room.
3. Flooring installed parallel to a shorter wall can make the room look shorter and wider.
4. Flooring installed parallel to the longest wall makes the room look longer and narrower.
